Weekly Review: Week 8

In my life last week… BUSY! This past weekend was so busy - hence the late weekly report! Nick and I were asked to take a church service for a pastor who was planning to visit family in the states, so we had our own church to attend on Saturday and then traveled to their church (over an hour away) on Sunday for that service. And today is our Canadian Thanksgiving. Thankfully, we didn't make any plans so it's been a relaxing day.

In our homeschool last week… we've had another successful week. Things have been going along so smoothly this year. We started our new math book - RightStart D and the first lessons are basically just review so we are moving through them fairly quickly. We also finished another step in spelling, three grammar lessons, a lesson in Latin, two French lessons, some cursive practice, another week of writing using Writing with Ease, 4 days of Bigger, a chapter in Story of the World, and TJ did a few chemistry experiments. Phew! We also fit in our extras - drawing, nature study (butterflies), picture study, music, geography, and health.

Things I’m working on… next year's school shopping list! We buy things throughout the year instead of one huge order so I'm getting my wishlist ready. I'm working on plans for physics - there are so many cool looking kits it's taken me awhile to narrow down my choices.

We're reading… Anna Karenina - almost finished part two! I'm also reading a Joyce Meyer book - Eat the Cookie, Buy the Shoes. TJ finished Little House in the Big Woods and Ben and Me. She started Little House on the Prairie. I'm reading aloud Nurse Matilda Goes to the Hospital and Understood Betsy

We're watching and listening... we just finished listening to How to Train your Dragon and started Snow Treasure.

Sounds like you had a fantastic week! We operate on a semester schedule so like you I buy supplies throughout the year. :)
